I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students, faculty and staff by providing opportunities and acquiring resources needed for students, faculty and staff to achieve their creative and scholarly objectives.


Associate Dean 2021-Present <\/strong>
I have been able to support student diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and success by collaborating with various university partners to 1<\/a><\/sup>obtain the resources to provide equitable high-quality educational opportunities. As a result of these collaborations I have been able to obtain just under $2 million dollars for new resources that include 250 new computers for Visual Arts, 13 new computers and new instruments for the School of Music, new photography equipment, new production equipment for performing arts including a new projector for the Meng Concert Hall. I am the college\u2019s liaison for the Visual Arts Modernization project including the construction of two new buildings and renovations of two existing buildings. I oversee the planning and effective use of instructional, office and support space, including facility management.


I supervise forty-five staff members, and oversee staff hiring. I oversee the annual staff evaluation process as well as the Working Personnel Action Files for 175 Part Time Lecturers. I serve on the Petitions Committee, GE Task Force, and the Concerted Activity Committee. I am also on the Convocation Committee, and Commencement Committee.\u00a0


I oversee course enrollments, and the college\u2019s admission process including strategic enrollment management. I created panels focused on diverse communities in the arts. These panels included alumni and guest artists who shared their professional experiences with our students. As part of the Student Success Team, I support students by creating a welcoming sense of belonging through student orientations and workshops, provide equitable advising, and contribute to closing the equity gap through targeted initiatives. I am responsible for removing barriers for the College of the Arts students. Academic holds have been a major obstacle for many students. My work on the WICHE No Holding Back committee led to the reduction of the College of the Arts student holds per semester from over 3,000 to under 500. With the reduction of holds students have a greater success rate to degree completion. I serve as the college’s assessment officer.\u00a0


I also assist with development activities, serves as liaison to college sponsored groups and events as well as the development of off-campus programs.


Department of Theatre and Dance Chair 2017-2021<\/strong>
In the four years as chair I saw the overhaul of our degree programs. When I became chair I discovered that our BA in Applied Studies of Theatre accreditation was suspended and was out of compliance with EO 1070. I worked with the department and NAST (National Association of Schools of Theatre) to develop our new and accredited BA in Theatre program. I also worked with the faculty to update the BFA in Acting, bring back the BA concentration in Directing, develop the new BFA concentration in Devised\/Physical Theatre, and worked on elevating the BA in Design and Technical Production to a BFA. I also worked on the new Theatre and Dance Education program for the new single subjects in theatre and dance, and updated the curriculum\/BFA program in Musical Theatre.
During my first year as chair I instituted a student board, and a student liaison position. This provided more opportunities for students to have direct access to the chair with any questions, comments or concerns. With this student feedback I was able to make changes in the department including but not limited to new courses, updates to the curriculum, removing the \u201ccut program\u201d from the BFA, and a vending machine near the dance studios with healthy options. I developed a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable play selection process. I also corrected the inequality in faculty workload.


Planning, Resource, and Budget Committee Chair 2017\/18 & 2019\/20<\/strong>
I served on the Planning, Resource, and Budget Committee (PRBC) for five years, including two years as chair and two years as vice chair. The PRBC reviews the University’s current budget and resources, and then prepares a memo with recommendations for the next academic year. As chair, I planned and created the biweekly meeting agendas and arranged for presentations from various areas of the University. The PRBC also reviews UPS changes, new programs, and program changes. As PRBC chair I served on the President\u2019s Advisory Board.\u00a0
